What's the difference between Wireless vs WiFi?

While the terms “wireless” and “Wi-Fi” are often used synonymously, there is a big difference in the technical world.
Wi-Fi is a protocol (digital language) that is used to create a short range wireless connection to a wireline broadband connection, similar to that of a cordless phone connection to a home landline connection (or base).  A router with wireless capability interacts similarly by connecting a device with Wi-Fi capability (your laptop, phone, tablet, etc) to a wired broadband connection. One would use Wi-Fi at home, at a library, or at a coffee shop. Devices such as laptops, phones, televisions, and even   ...READ MORE

What is a 404 Error?

Have you ever been browsing the web and come across the unhelpful page that says “404 Error: Page not found?” While this page seems unnecessary, it actually has value. When a web page has been moved or deleted, a “404 error” is returned.  The 404 error code tells the user that the server was found but was not able to retrieve the requested page. The most common and likely cause of this error is a mistyped URL.
When you see a 404 error when trying to access a website, first make sure the URL in the address bar was typed correctly.   ...READ MORE

Internet of Things
I’m sure everyone at least once heard the term “Internet of Things” or “IoT”.  People discuss it in social media, TV shows, professional forums and communities. For most people who do not work closely with the technology field, this term tells either nothing or that they can buy more things through Internet. But at the same time the Internet of Things is considered to be the biggest of all current technology trends.
So what is the Internet of Things? Basically the IoT is a network of multiple devices and data-gathering sensors that interconnect with each other without human involvement. Sensors gather   ...READ MORE

Microwave Technology
Microwave Technology

Microwave Technology is an integral part of the Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) by providing ultra-low latency networks that allow the user to connect without unwanted latency. LV.Net uses this technology and is building a multifaceted network with the shortest distance between the starting and ending points.

Currently, many businesses utilize a fiber network, which has higher speed in comparison to other hardwired networks. Most fiber networks are installed under public roads, which prevent a direct point-to-point and increases latency.
LV.Net’s microwave technology fights the difficulties of building a network underground by utilizing the frequency spectrum in the sky. Due to   ...READ MORE

Cloud Computing: Benefits of Accessing Centralized Equipment From a Remote Location
Cloud computing can have the potential to enhance the use of computer equipment and IT services, in addition to making a company’s use of computer equipment and IT services more efficient. In the case of a business that uses equipment in a number of different locations, differences can be significant.
There can be possibilities to achieve economies of scale when equipment that runs applications—a system’s “back end”—is located on a secure site, and where accessing the back end remotely from a system’s “front end.” The storage site for the back end equipment can be in a location where it is convenient   ...READ MORE

Private Networks, Virtual Private Networks, and Microwave Connections
Private networks can link computers and devices in a Local Area Network (LAN) that is limited to a user’s own computers and devices. A private network can be more secure than a network that uses the Internet, because a private network does not normally have Internet access and there is less of an opportunity for an unauthorized person to use an Internet connection to attempt to access a private network’s internal computers and devices.
A private point-to-point network can have more consistent performance in the case where accessing and using the Internet is less reliable than a direct point-to-point connection. Private   ...READ MORE

How the Internet Has Evolved in the Past Decade
How the Internet Has Evolved in the Past Decade
We all know that the Internet has become a great part of our everyday life. Now we have a wide range of Internet services and their number continues to grow.
But it was not always like this. So let’s track how internet technologies developed and what has happened in the last decade.
As we know it, the history of the Internet began with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. This began with point-to-point communication between mainframe computers and terminals, expanded to point-to-point connections between computers and then early research into packet switching.
In 1982 the Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) was standardized and the   ...READ MORE
