Training is Everything

Training is Everything

Training is everything.

“It's all to do with the training: you can do a lot if you're properly trained.” - Elizabeth II

I think the importance of training the employees - both new and experienced -- cannot be overemphasized. Effective training of new employees results in employees who:

  • Know what they're doing
  • Save time
  • Have a good feeling about the company
  • Get off to a good start.

New hire orientation programs include showing new workers how to perform their jobs safely and efficiently. But the importance of employee training doesn't end with new workers.

Many standards promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) explicitly require employers to train employees in the safety and health aspects of their jobs. Mining is regulated by MSHA.

LV.Net is the company where management understands the importance of providing employees with opportunities to grow personally and professionally and how critical it is that the type of training an employer provides meets the needs of the business and its employees.
A number of our employees have received MSHA certification and our next step is to plan OSHA training as well.

We encourage our Field Technicians to have BICSI training where they receive practical knowledge conducting site surveys, pulling wire/cable, and terminating and testing copper and optical fiber cable to the highest level of specification. BICSI Installers and Technicians are trained to understand the entire scope of the project and to properly plan and organize the installation process and maintain their credentials with continuing education, allowing them to stay up-to-date despite an ever-changing professional environment. That is why in my opinion BISCI certification will add tremendous value to our organization.

Our inside technicians are encouraged to have CISCO training to receive CCNA and CCNP certifications.

We strongly believe that good training will yield tangible positive results, including higher profits, reduced costs, and employee retention. We also remember what sometimes seem to be the less tangible reasons for giving people valuable training opportunities. When we invest in our employees by providing training, they feel better about themselves, they want to make a quality contribution, they often deal with personal situations in a more positive manner and they can mentor and help others.

We all benefit.
